(I wrote this a few days ago but, I will try to keep it up to date.)
The City: San Cristobal de le Casas
The State: Chiapas
The Country: Mexico
(In other words my new home for the next 3 months)
Hey ya’ll,
I just wanted to let everyone know that I was down here and what I am doing down here:) I came down here to be a Nanny/Mothers Helper to Nathan and Julie Terrell. God opened the door very wide for me to come down here. Ok, let just leave it at that for now and then I will go back sometime and tell that back story (I need some help with my timeline!). For now I will only to back as for as the start of my trip here……
Friday, August, 21 2009 I sadly and excitedly boarded a plane for Villa Hermosa (the city I flew into). Leaving behind my mom and the rest of my family was really hard but, I knew it was what God wanted me to do. My layover in Houston was not to long and we boarded fairly quickly. Though it was not in God’s timing we leave on time. He decided to show off with a beautiful lighting/rain storm. That held us up for about 2 hours in all. We finally made it to Villa Hermosa (in the state north on Chiapas) at about 11:00pm ish. I made it through customs and all that quite fast and easy. Then I went looking for Nathan, though he wasn’t there yet I just did what Julie had told me to do. Sit and wait. Thankfully before I had a chance to brake down I realized the clock was on military time he shouldn’t be there yet. But, not long after that he came and rescued me:) Then it was off to one place and then a u-turn back to the hotel, but it was all good. When we arrived at the hotel I was introduced to the Global Encounter Group (one of them is even from KY:) (it was great officially meeting you again, Daniel) that had just finished up their trip down here. They were very nice to me and are a great bunch:) I pray that God will richly bless them as they go back to their every day lives.

So the next morning very one flew out except Nathan, Grace and Gaby (sister's who are from San Cristobal), Steven (who flew out this morning and helped drive the extra car back) and I. After breakfast Grace, Gaby, Steven and I got it a taxi (you ever think people drive crazy in the states? they don’t!) but, any way we made it safely to this really cool park/walkway on some really big lake (Gaby even witnessed to the taxi driver). We walked around and I kept seeing babies I wanted to take home! (they were soooo cute!) Anyway back to our walk:) We came across the little racoon like things called Coatis the little babies put on a show kinda begging for food:) Then the best part we got on these 2 person peddle cart and had races (Steven always won:( he has long strong legs, not fair:( It was really fun though and on our way to take the carts back we stopped and got Coconut juice (they peel the coconut and cut the top off and stick a straw in it) it was different but, tasted a lot like the kind I have had back home. Then we headed back to the hotel, got all our stuff together. There was a little bit of confusion who I was riding with but, it all worked out and Steven, Grace, Gaby, and I headed out in the pathfinder and Nathan in the truck. I have to even though I felt bad that Nathan was riding alone, it was by far one of the best road trips I have ever been on:) In those 5 ½ hours there was a lot of laughing (hum… my jaw hurts a little:) jk:) and some really good talks about living life and having a deeper, more loving relationship with Christ, great times:) Also on the way down we stopped twice and for the first time I had to ask for money to go the bathroom! As we got closer to San Cristobal I fell even more in love with the country side. The mountains are even more so breath taking than what I have ever seen. I think I am falling in love with this country…not the language, at least not yet. So we got to San Cris a little late but, Julie had dinner for us and it was great:) After supper Nathan showed me my new home downstairs:) My room is cute and even cuter with the pics my sister sent down here:) I had made it almost all day without crying to bad, but after seeing the pics in my room and all over my apt I lost it, what’s new?

Even though I went to bed kinda late I still woke up at like 7 something:( Is was ok though I got my first cold shower ( I didn’t know how to get the hot water to work) Then Nathan and the girls came down stairs to let me know the plan for the day, we were going to a park/forest to have picnic and to ride horses:) We had nice picnic and I did get to ride a horse:) Gaby took kinda in the hammock, Cloe took a horses ride and befriended the family picnicking next to us:) Nathan then took her to the caves there while Julie and I sat and talked. After Gaby was up and Nathan had taken a nap we headed out. Supper, dishes, and then the kiddos were of to bed. I was wiped so I ended up in bed by 9:)

This morning I was up by 6:15 to get ready and let the shower run till the hot water kicked on:) I didn’t realize that it took both the shower and the sink to kick the pilot on:) So this time I washed my hair in the sink and took a kinda sponge bath in the shower, not as cold as yesterday:) Then came upstairs, played with the girls and then ate breakfast (Nathan made us pancakes:) Nathan and Julie cut Nathans hair and I got to kill a Mexican wasp that wouldn’t die! (i still don't think it was dead when I flushed it away) Played with the girls some more and then had lunch. They got Gaby down for her nap and then Nathan, Julie and Cloe headed into town to get Julie’s hair cut and Cloe’s trimmed. So I babysat while they were gone and Gaby took her nap. Later that evening after the girls were in bed I babysat while Nathan and Julie went to a movie. That was fun and easy:)

So this post will in short explain the title of my website :) The past two afternoons Cloe has come down stairs and had a water tea party with me, then when Gaby was up from her nap she came down. (hence, the soggy cheerios) The hoodie thing is because it has been kinda chilly here :) Yesterday was a pretty good day with some rain :) Today was been a pretty good day was well :) Today, is play group so I might work on my room while they are gone :P We will see :) Maybe some later.
